Thirteen ships from eight different cruise lines currently are scheduled to embark on their maiden voyages between now and September 2018. Celebrity Xperience (48 passengers) and Celebrity Xploration (16 passengers) -- These 4.5-star expedition vessels from Celebrity will cruise the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands year-round. Passengers can take advantage of wetsuits and snorkeling gear, dinners under the stars and a lounge that hosts daily talks and films. Both ships debut March 23, 2017. Silver Muse (596 passengers) -- A 6-star ship, the Silver Muse will debut Silversea's first two-bedroom Silver Suites and will have more connecting staterooms than the line's other ships. MSC Meraviglia (4,500 passengers) -- A digital sky above the inside promenade will display sunrises, sunsets and starry nights on this 4-star MSC ship. Meanwhile, Cirque du Soleil will dazzle guests with an original show in the Carousel Lounge, which was specifically designed for the acrobatic performers. Debuts June 11, 2017. Viking Sun and Viking Spirit (930 passengers) -- Each 5.5-star Viking ship will sport a modern Scandinavian design, a glass-backed pool cantilevered off the stern and a Nordic-inspired spa. A theater will host enrichment lectures and movies inspired by the sailing destination. The Viking Sun debuts December 1, 2017, and the Viking Spirit debuts July 8, 2018. MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview (5,429 passengers) -- These 4-star vessels will be designed to "follow the sun," according to MSC, with elements that make the most of their warm-weather sailing destinations. A wraparound promenade, for example, is lined with alfresco bars and restaurants. Some staterooms can be configured to accommodate up to 10 guests. Carnival Horizon (3,974 passengers) -- With a 4.5-star rating, the second ship in Carnival's Vista class will feature an IMAX theater, Family Harbor cabins for up to five people in a dedicated family zone and Skyride, where passengers can pedal hanging recumbent bikes along a track suspended above the ocean. Seabourn Ovation (600 passengers) -- Sister ship to the recently debuted Seabourn Encore, this six-star Seabourn vessel will feature The Grill by Thomas Keller, balconies on every suite and a marina at the stern that provides complimentary water sports. Norwegian Bliss (4,004 passengers) -- This five-star Norwegian ship has been designed for Alaska cruising; an observation lounge at the front of the ship will be perfect for viewing glaciers and spotting whales. Le Laperouse and Le Champlain (184 passengers) -- These intimate 5.5-star ships are the first vessels in the Ponant Explorers class for French line Ponant. They'll have two dining venues, a main lounge, a pool with alfresco bar and a theater. Hydraulic platforms with adjustable heights will allow easier boarding of Zodiacs for expeditions.
